Pacific Rim Summer Festival

New initiatives

One of Canada’s finest showcases of chamber music. Department of Canadian Heritage

Set against the spectacular west coast of Vancouver Island, the Pacific Rim Summer Festival celebrated artistic excellence and cultural exchange. From 1984 to 2002, founding directors PALENAI Duo brought together international musicians and students to perform concerts of chamber music and world music. The festival proudly showcased the vibrant music and dance traditions of the Nuu-chah-nulth people, creating a rich dialogue between cultures in an unforgettable coastal setting.

Vienna: A Musical Heritage was produced by PALENAI with support from CBC Calgary and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. Forty musicians performed in four concerts held at four churches across Calgary, Alberta, celebrating the Mozart Bicentennial.

Festival on the St. Lawrence, sponsored by Human Resources Canada and St. Lawrence College in Kingston, brought live concerts to communities along the St. Lawrence Seaway. As Administrative Directors, Joy and Adrienne oversaw the production of series of concerts across the region and launched a Young and Emerging Artist Program, providing meaningful performance opportunities while nurturing the next generation of artists.
